Purchasing child (under 15) ticket with parents half fare card?

I have purchased half fare card for me and my spouse and added my child on family card while purchasing half fare card for us.

When we buy ticket from Basel to Interlaken OST through SBB mobile app I see option for half fare card discount for me and my spouse but I do not see option to select family card option for kids and it’s charging us fare for kids even though they have family card.

The Swiss Family Card is the child’s ticket. There is no need to get an extra free ticket for your child.

All you need is

your Swiss Half Fare Cards,
half fare tickets for the parents,
the Swiss Family Card,
and the physical passports of all family members.

In that case how do I reserve seats on train for kids?

Hello Pgandhi

Our trains are free seating. Except for the Glacier Express and the Golden Pass Express, you do not have to reserve seats on Swiss trains. We use our trains like others in foreign countries use the metro or suburban trains: hop on, find a seat, have a ride, hop off.
