Transfer time and feasibility at Lugano railway station

I’m reaching Lugano from Lucerne on Gotthard panoramic express on 4 Th June at 16:41 pm . Earliest Next train is from Lugano to Milan central is at 17:02 pm Re80 25529. My concern is that is it feasible for me for with family and luggage to catch this train with 20 min transfer time . ** as per SBB SITE BOTH ARE ON AND FROM PLATFORMS 1.

That’s more than enough transfer time.
The minimum connection time at Lugano is 4 minutes, and may include a change of platform.

It is atypical for SBB to offer such long transfer times. Swiss people do not like it when the railway wastes their time. But the Gotthard Panorama Express is for people who are not in a hurry. Had you been on the IC in stead the transfer would have been a more agreeable 4 minutes.

This just to say that you may have to think different about transfer times than you are used to. Here short transfer times are considered good, and long transfer times bad.
