I am traveling from interlaken to Desanzo del garda in Italy. My first ticket is from interlaken to domodossola. Under the ticket it says “only valid with international ticket. CIV 85 without VAT”. What does this mean?

Ridoutee44 You have two tickets: the first one for Switzerland and the second one for Italy.

This is an international trip, in this case no taxes (VAT) are due in Switzerland. “CIV 85” indicates that the ticket is issued according the CIV or International Convention for the transportation of Passengers (French: Convention Internationale pour le transport des Voyageurs) and 85 is the code for Switzerland.
