Which type of Swiss Pass

Hello,
I would like some assistance as to what type of Swiss Pass I should buy before my visit in July. Should I buy a regular Swiss Pass or a Flex Pass? See itinerary below. Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated.

This is my itinerary at this moment.
July 16 arrive at Zurich International Airport and travel to Interlaken to stay for four nights
July 17 travel from Interlaken to Jungfrau
July 18 travel from Interlaken to go for a hike near Schilthorn or Grindelwald
July 19 no plans
July 20 travel from Interlaken to Saint Gallen to stay for four nights
July 20 travel from Saint Gallen to Appenzell
July 21 travel from Saint Gallen to Vaduz
July 22 travel from Saint Gallen to for a hike near Wasserauen
July 23 no plans
July 25 travel from Saint Gallen to Zurich to stay for two nights
July 26 visit places in Zurich

I, personally, would not go for the Swiss Travel Pass, yet purchase the Swiss Half Fare Card and individual tickets (Point-to-point tickets, or a Saver Day Pass). You would have to do the maths for each journey to know what is less costly. With a Swiss Travel Pass, you would have to spend around CHF 77 on tickets per day to break even.

What is your intention to visit Vaduz? I would give it a miss, to be honest, unless you are counting countries you have visited and must have been there. Vaduz is not particularly nice, and you will not even notice you are in Liechtenstein, apart from the black plates you can see on the cars.

Rather consider visiting Graubünden, for example Bergün, St. Moritz, or the lower Engadin, like Guarda. Or do a day trip on the Bernina Express to Tirano and back. Or, a boat trip on Lake Constance.

If talking of Swiss Travel Pass options, the flex option would obviously make more sense by using it for your busier days. On the less busy or “no plan” days or just for ZRH City - Airport you’d buy full fare regular tickets.

However the average Swiss Travel Pass (Flex) cost for one day would be higher than the regular full fare ticket prices for quite some of those planned days, e.g. St. Gallen - Wasserauen return (40.- without Ebenalp gondola) or St. Gallen - Zurich (32.- without city ticket upgrades).
Therefore, a Swiss Half Fare Card (1 month version for foreign visitors) and buying all tickets/day passes individually with usually 50% discount probably makes more sense from a financial point of view. It also would save you an additional approx. 35.- just on the Jungfraujoch trip, as the Swiss Travel Pass discount on that particular (and expensive) one is less than 50%.

Just check the ticket prices in the SBB online timetables and do the math yourself. Note that the “from…” prices shown without signing in or specifying passenger details are half fare, you’d need to double those for full fare.
