The only downside to such short travel times is the occasional difficulty finding a seat on the train. However, even with efficient schedules, delays can happen. For example, on a recent trip from Gland to Zurich, I had a tight connection in Lausanne. Unfortunately, my train arrived late, forcing me to wait 15 minutes for the next one. I was wondering what could have happened if I was with a super saver ticket.
So, while Swiss public transport is generally very reliable, unforeseen circumstances can sometimes disrupt even the best plans. So punctuality and time efficiency are sometimes just a story for someone who does to use the service.
