Hi all! Planning to hike the via alpina in July and am trying to figure out how to use the station to station luggage service as to not carry around additional luggage. My group will be arriving in Zurich at night and then using the public transit service to Meiringen in the morning where we hope to begin our hike.
We want to leave our luggage at the Meiringen station and have it delivered to the Geneva airport where we will end our weeklong trip. We will be use the transit service from Lenk to Geneva on our last day, but otherwise hiking through. I tried to book the luggage service online but am running into a few issues/questions.
- After inputting my dates, it only offers me a collection date after the date that I will be leaving Meiringen station (I am arriving in Meiringen on the 6th of July but the system switches collection date to the 7th. I will have left already) Am I able to drop off my luggage at the station early and have it included in the collection date?
- The luggage will arrive several days before my group does in Geneva. Am I correct in my research that that will be okay and will just incur a 5 CHF charge per day?
- Is it necessary for me to even book online? Can I just check in the luggages at the station and coordinate the delivery to Geneva airport then? If not, are my addresses correct: 3860 Meiringen –> 1215 Genève Aéroport. The system will not let me include what I believe is the station address.
