Super saver class upgrade

We are looking to buy supersaver class upgrade from SBB app and currently it’s on offer on SBB app and we will be travelling from Leuk to Geneva airport and can we still purchase that ticket and travel without any discount card or this ticket only for people who has discount card

It is available to everyone using the SBB Mobile app; however, from my experience, it is only offered to people that hold the Half Fare Card or GA travel card and not to people that travel on full fare.

Until 31 May 2024, a Supersaver upgrade cannot be combined with a Supersaver ticket.
From 01 June 2024, a tariff change will take place, and a Supersaver upgrade can newly be combined with any ticket. Nonetheless, the restrictions imposed by the Supersaver ticket must be respected, though.

Important:

the Supersaver class upgrade is not a standalone ticket. It is not valid for travel as a single ticket, you need in addition another ticket valid for 2nd class. In other words, the Supersaver class upgrade is to upgrade your 2nd class ticket to travel in 1st class. Many tourists purchase this ticket because it is cheap and only travel with this ticket. This will become a costly matter on the train, as the conductor will have an issue and ask you to pay a surcharge for an invalid ticket.
The Supersaver ticket is only valid for the connection you have selected during purchase. Even if you combine your Supersaver class upgrade with a regular point-to-point ticket, that is valid on any service (train), you must stick to the itinerary as given by the Supersaver class upgrade.

Thanks but it does not say anything in the apps that only travel card holder can purchase this ticket and I can there is also option showing in the box no travel discount card or travel discount card and when u choose no discount card it’s process the ticket with the super saver upgrade option .

So it is not clearly mentioned in the ticketing system apps

As I said: It is available to everyone using the SBB Mobile app. Why should it be mentioned in the app, if it is, in theory, available to all?

If it is offered to you, fine, grab it! What kind of second class ticket do you have in addition?

I said, I am unable to purchase it without a travel card.
When I do a dummy booking for a customer without a travel card, the Supersaver class upgrade disappears. When I do a dummy booking for a customer with a Half Fare Card, the Supersaver offer appears again.

@RedBaron: Can you try it? Can you buy it for a co-passenger without any travel card?

This question cannot be answered, as it all depends on your itinerary. Renting and driving a car in Switzerland is expensive. Plus, there are places, mostly touristic sites, that can’t be reached by car. Thus, you would require train tickets in addition, which make your trip even more expensive.

Without knowing your itinerary, we are unable to give you an advice on travel passes and tickets.

My plan will be starting journey Geneva airport to Leukerbad where we will stay for 4 nights .

I went through the Swiss travel pass option for 4 or 6 days which cover whole journey in Switzerland. As we got two kids and we are two adult it’s the best option i think .

As the travel from Geneva airport to Leukerbad and then Leukerbad to Geneva airport will cost the same but it does not help . So bettter to have travel passes for 4 of us.
