I was trying to book a train trip for my family from Zurich to Budapest on the SBB website, but I couldn’t find any options for group bookings. It seems like the website only allows individual bookings, unlike the platforms I use for flights and hotels.
Our concern is that we won’t be able to stay together in the same compartment on the night train. While there is a paid seat reservation option, it doesn’t allow us to choose specific seats or see a seat map beforehand. The system simply allows us to select if it is near the window, etc and assigns seats randomly, which means we might not be seated together.
I’m also wondering if the SBB app works for international travel and if our Swiss Half-Pass would be valid for this trip.
Any tips or advice would be greatly appreciated
