Was train EC51 cancelled on 14 August?

I was planning to travel to Domodossola on 14 August on the 8:44 EC51 from Brig.
I was able to search on SBB without any problems until a few days ago, but now I can’t.

I want to be in Domodossola by 9.00 am because I am going to Milan on the EC51 bus, which leaves Domodossola at 9.30 am.

IC 1301, which departs Brig at 8.41am, cannot be searched either.
I am wondering if I should cancel the bus to Milan and take a different route.

The timetable for August is not yet final.

To better guide you, it would be a lot easier if you could tell us from where to where you want to travel. There are also direct buses from Trenitalia from Geneva / Lausanne to Milan.

I’m going from Zermatt to Milan on 14 August.I planned the trip last autumn.
I was planning to go from Brig to Milan by train on EC51.

I took a substitute bus ticket last week because there were no more trains from Domodossola, but I did not expect that the EC51 itself would stop running.
I didn’t think there would be no more trains leaving between 8 and 9am.

Currently, searches on the SBB show routes that do not go via Domodossola.
Should I wait a little longer until the timetable is finalised?
Do you know when the timetable will be fixed?

EC 51 and IC Trains are not running from 9th to 30 of August as line Iselle to Domodossola is also closed in august.
Please check departure time Zermatt again in July. I am sure that you will find
connecting services for your EC Bus Domodossola dep. 9 h 30.

I will search again in July.

We were planning to go from Zermatt to Florence, but as there is no direct train service to Milan in August, we were planning to take a substitute bus from Domodossola.
I am worried because I did not expect the train from Brig to Domodossola not to run either.

Moreover, the Frecciarossa from Milan to Florence usually takes two hours to arrive, but for some reason it takes three hours on 14 August.

I am thinking about changing my plans, thinking it might be difficult to get to Florence.

Don’t worry to much. There will be a train that will get you to Domodossola in time for the 9:30 EC bus. Public transport doesn’t just cease existing without warning. Note that verifying the details of a schedule closer to departure is something you are expected to do anyway. Train schedules change. And in my youth we even bought tickets without knowing the schedule in advance at all…

And it looks like in August train travellers have to be patient in Italy. The HSL from Milano to Bologna appears to be closed for maintenance, so the trains take the old route on some days. And between Milano and Venice there are also works…
