Basically, a look in the => ZVV zone map should answer most of your questions.
Not sure how you got that Albis 24h ticket screenshot as offered suggestion just for a Rümlang-Zurich return itinerary?!? Rümlang is in zone 121 and Zurich in 110 (counting as 2 zones due to its size), therefore the system should offer you just a 3 zone 24h ticket including only the zones 121 and 110 for a 7.00 (half fare) price.
You should get that Albis ticket screenshot (which does NOT include Rümlang’s zone 121!) when entering the itinerary I told you in my previous post… so did you possibly paste the wrong screenshot?
The Albis 24h ticket is a special discounted ticket including the necessary 6 zones (for the price of 4 zones) for all kind of leisure excursions around the Uetliberg-Albis mountain range. A typical one is taking the train to Uetliberg, then hiking to Felsenegg and taking the cable car from there down to Adliswil and getting back to Zurich by train.
So the Albis ticket would only cover boat rides on the lake between Horgen and Zurich (zones 151, 150 and 110). Should the boat cross the lake to Küsnacht (zone 140) on its way, you could already get in trouble. However I think the boat staff might just sell you a zone 140 extension ticket on board instead of fining you.
Therefore for the usual longer boat rides on the lake, some ZVV pass covering all zones is recommended, either an all zones 24h pass or the cheaper 9 o’clock day pass (valid on services with a scheduled departure time after 09:00). You get those ZVV all zones passes automatically offered by selecting a return itinerary covering 8 or more zones, such as Rümlang - Pfäffikon SZ.
