Saver day pass or Swiss travel pass

Dear all,

I have problems by choosing these two passes.

I will be in Switzerland for 4 days, on the first day and the last we will only stay in one place, namely bern and Zürich. We plan to explore Grindelwalds and Interlaken area on the second day, and then Luzern and surrounds for the third day. Overall, I believe we will only need tickets for transportation for 2 days.

Which ticket is more suitable, the saver day pass or STP?

Besides, I am also a bit confused if that all the transport options showed on the SBB app are covered by the saver day pass? If not, how I can tell and take the right one?

You plan to stay 4 days and will even change base during that time? That’s not really recommended. You would better stay in one place for the entire time, e.g. Bern or Lucerne and do all trips from there; this would allow using your time available to the fullest.

With so little time, you can skip Interlaken, it is not worth seeing. Also, Zurich is not a must-see for a first-timer.

I would opt for the 4-days Swiss Travel Pass which allows unlimited travel to all the places (in the Jungfrau area as far as Grindelwald / Wengen Mürren, not higher above), as well as in the cities.

Overall, I believe we will only need tickets for transportation for 2 days.

Okay, and how do you get to Bern? Will you have wings on that day?

Regarding your transport option question, google the SBB area of validity map.
There, in the top left box, select the option listing the pass in question and check the meaning of the line colors / types behind the (i) symbol.
Finally, zoom in to your area of interest, as more and more details will show up. For instance, there‘s a difference between both pass types with the Jungfrau Railways.
