If I buy ticket from Lucerne to Milano for 830 AM but missed the train can I also take the train for 930AM? The reason I asked is because the connection to Milan require seat reservation. Thanks

You probably mean the connection at 08:39 from Lucerne, with a change at Arth-Goldau.

If you miss the connection because you were dallying around, the ticket is no longer valid because it is only valid on that EC while the seat reservation is part of the ticket. You need a new ticket or change it at the counter with a new reservation for the next EC. In Italy, everyone needs a seat reservation for the EC.

You have been very helpful Roland.
I bought ticket from Lucerne to Milano for 2 passengers.
However they assigned 2 different carriages (carrier 1 & 3) for the Milan leg of the trip.
How can we change and sit together?
