So I did my identity check for my SwissPass but after it verified it just re directed me to my profile page. Would I now automatically receive my Swiss Pass in the mail?

Can you please let us know what you are intending to buy? A Swiss Half Fare Card? A Swiss Travel Pass?

The SwissPass is for residents, solely. As a tourist, you will receive travel passes as e-tickets, not stored on the red plastic card. So we can better guide you if you were about to tell us what you want to buy. We will guide you accordingly.

Ahh I understand. Let me just tell you about my stay in Switzerland. I am here for 2 months and I am in Lausanne so I use the metro to go to office every day. I use the inter city and inter regional to go places as well. Would appreciate any guidance you can give.

And what ticket did you purchase? Do you have a Mobilis monthly travel card?

A SwissPass (the red card) is only issued after you purchased a resident’s travel card.

Till now I have just been purchasing tickets every time I travel, but now I want to buy some type of pass to reduce my travel expenses.

Well, I suggest you go to the SBB Travel Centre in Lausanne and tell the agent what daily trips you do and what else you want to do. This is the most efficient way to find the best ticket / travel card for you… Also, check with your employer if they take part of a Mobilis commuter program (if available) in which employees living / working in the Mobilis tariff network can benefit from discounted travel cards.

Alternatively, the 1-month GA Travelcard for CHF 440 per month could be an option, too, especially if you are eager to explore Switzerland in your spare time.

Got it. What all does the GA Travel card allow me to do? Also the GA Travel card still requires me to have a Swiss Pass

No, the 1-month GA Travel Card can also be issued as paper ticket, together with a passport or government ID card.

You can find the area of validity on the product website in the Downloads box. See the link to the map below as well.

It is valid on all red, blue, and yellow solid (or dashed) lines and gives reduction on dotted lines.
