Normally in other countries I miss the organization and cleanliness of the sbb trains, but yesterday for the first time I saw these tables and thought it was perhaps the best table arrangement I’ve ever seen on a train. All chairs equipped with a table, like on airplanes. Much more comfortable than a table in the corner shared with 2/4 seats.

Such tables do exist in newer trains, not in those built 20 years ago when laptops where still not widely used.

Multiple surveys among rail customers have revealed that Swiss people do prefer the 4 people compartments over the airplane seating; the former are typically Swiss and part of our DNA; they are very convenient when travelling with family or friends. Furthermore, they allow, for example, to have a pick-nick together, or to travel front-faced for those that suffer from travel sickness while travelling back-faced.
