How to apply SBB coupon for Halbtax buying

I exchanged my coop punkten for SBB 100 CHF Coupon and would like to apply this coupon to buy a Halbtax card with compensation. The question is - when the price compensation apply? After i entered the code inside coupon field - the price doesn’t changed. Is this coupon code apply during the payment or what? Dind’t find any info on SBB site.

To use a coupon code when making a purchase online at sbb.ch, enter it directly in the ‘Coupon’ field during payment.

The coupon for a Half-Fare travelcard can only be used for a first purchase on sbb.ch.

If you already have a Half-Fare travelcard and would like to renew it with the coupons, this is not possible online. The coupon can be exchanged at a staffed point of sale. Please note, that coupons cannot be used for Half Fare Travelcard PLUS.
