Most economical way to travel by train including Jungfrau

I am landing in Zurich on 19 September and then would like to take a train to Interlaken on the 20th. From Interlaken I want to visit Lauterbrunnen one day and Jungfrau the next. On the 23rd I will travel back to Zurich via train. Is a Swiss Pass 4 day pass the most economical way? Does it include Jungfrau? Or is it better just to buy a return train ticket from Zurich to Interlaken and a seperate Jungfrau ticket from Interlaken to Jungfrau?

I think, a Saver Day Pass for Zurich to Interlaken, a Jungfrau Pass for your stay in Interlaken, and Supersaver ticket (or a Saver Day Pass) for the way back could be a good combination.

You do not say much about your travel group (who & age).

May I ask why you plan to stay in Zurich? A train to Lucerne with an overnight in Lucerne, then Lucerne Interlaken Express to Interlaken would be a more scenic trip. And Lucerne is a gem, in all regards.

RolandP Thank you so much for the suggestions, I’ll look into this. We are a group of 3 (2 adults, and one 6-year-old). Lucerne was definitely on my ‘list’ but with the long and very expensive flight from Johannesburg we’re also trying to fit in a few days in Spain. Hence going back to Zurich for an early flight to Barcelona. My accommodation is not yet fixed though so I may look at going straight from Zurich airport to Lucerne - it certainly looks beautiful. Thanks!
