I encountered an error when I tried to buy Swiss Travel Pass (STP) tickets. I called the STP representatives who said my Chase Visa credit card does not support 3D Secure. I had a call conversation with the security tech staff of Chase who said they support 3D Secure, especially version 2.0. They pointed out that there might be the version incompatibility issues between STP and Chase. Thus, I used a different website operated by Switzerland Travel Centre, https://www.swissrailways.com/, which was working successfully.

Thanks for your message. What concerns the acceptance of credit cards, we are aware of it. SBB has a much more restrictive webshop than STC. As a workaround, we do recommend using STC as well. However, it has the drawback that you cannot use the STP on your SBB Mobile app.

Thank you so much for your quick response. You’re right; we are unable to show Swiss Travel Pass (STP) tickets on the SBB’s mobile app while traveling. I initially thought that purchasing through your website was the only way to have mobile tickets on my iPhone. However, I discovered that I could still use my iPhone Wallet by downloading the STP tickets from the links provided by the Switzerland Travel Centre (STC).

By the way, do you happen to know the version of 3D Secure that your website is using?
