Hi,
I have purchased two swiss half fare card for me and my husband, but I didn’t register my son (14 yrs old) when I purchased it. I’d like to know if I can still get Swiss Family card for my son?

You can get a paper copy from any SBB Travel Center here in Switzerland. It cannot be issued online any further.

If this is the case, I should wait until I obtain the Swiss Family card before purchasing any other ticket, am I right?

No, because the Swiss Family Card is the ticket for your child. It does not need any additional tickets.

You only need to purchase tickets for the parents, and this can be done at any point.

My apology, I have one more question. In addition to the Swiss Half Fare Card I also have purchased Berner Oberland Pass. Without Swiss Family card on hand yet, can I purchase and book seat for Luzern-Interlaken express for my son?

You may ask as many questions as you have, that’s the purpose of this forum: to answer questions. And if you ask the questions in such a polite manner, you are more than welcome to ask 🙂

In Switzerland, a ticket and a seat reservation are two different things.
There is actually no need to book a seat, our trains are free seating. And, if you still want to reserve a seat, you can book it without having a ticket yet because in our country, you purchase a ticket for a route and not for a train (except for Supersaver tickets).

I am in Switzerland now and how time flies when we’re enjoying beautiful places. I will go to Heidelberg Germany tomorrow. May I ask how to optimize my Swiss half fare card and Berner Oberland Pass to buy train ticket from Interlaken to Heidelberg?
