I am travelling to Europe from South Africa for holiday in 2 weeks. I was planning a stay in Zermatt and would go from Milan to Zermatt via train. But with the flooding my hotel has been cancelled and therefore my trip. Is it possible to get a refund for the train and if so, how?

Well, that fully depends on the ticket type in question and especially the T&C related to it (or to the ticket issuer).
Or alternatively look for another hotel? Only a few buildings have been impacted in Zermatt.
