number of Zone upgrades are required over Zurich city 9am pass for travelling to zone 116

I have Zurich city 9 on the pass ( covers Zones 110,111, 121, 140, 150, 154, 155 ). I am traveling to rhein falls (zone 116). Entire network map shows a lot of zones between 110 and 116. How many zone upgrades do i need to purchase?

As I understand with 4 additional zones, I can travel the entire ZVV network. Is that what I need?

If you travel from Zurich HB to Rheinfall Schlössli Wörth, this is a Z-Pass Ostwind-ZVV. You can buy a connection ticket via the SBB Mobile App.

Depending on the connection, if you travel from Zürich to Schloss Laufen am Rheinfall, you can get a Z-Pass Ostwind-ZVV ticket or a ZVV Ticket (all zones).

If you take a direct train, you can upgrade your existing pass to a ZVV-all-zones ticket. This would be the best option.

I need to go to ‘Schloss Laufen am Rheinfall’

I already have a 9′o clock monthly pass and looking for upgrade ticket. but i dont know how many zones i need upgrade ticket for.

Can i not just take the zone upgrade- zvv site mentions

“A 9 O’Clock Pass for Zurich or Winterthur (city and agglomeration in both cases) together with a zone upgrade for four zones entitles the holder to unlimited travel across the ZVV network.”

if this is valid for travel to Schloss Laufen, it will likely be the cheapest option.
