Upgrade to 1st Class for Glacier Express - Still Confused

We purchased 2nd Class 6-day Swiss Travel Passes, and we have seat reservations for the Glacier Express in 1st Class. Using the app or online there are full fare 1st class passes and half price versions if one already has certain passes. And there are upgrade options - per route and for a day. Our route does not show up as an option and the daily upgrade option says we don’t qualify. What do I need to purchase for that one day, in this case, Saturday, July 27?

For some reason, the answer for your very Glacier Express specific question is missing in the English version of the FAQ on the Glacier Express website, only in the => German version.
Here’s the translation:

I have a 2nd class ticket but would like to travel in 1st class, how do I pay for the class upgrade?
You can make the reservation in 1st class. In step 3 under Reductions you can choose the Swiss Travel Pass, so you only pay for the reservation. The difference between 1st and 2nd class can only be paid at the station. How much the class change costs depends on the route.

The usual class upgrade tickets appear to be unavailable in the app or online for the Glacier Express.

Holding the Swiss Travel Pass for 2nd class, you can simply purchase any 1st class upgrade tickets at half fare; your STP acts as Half Fare Card what concerns upgrade tickets. To purchase the class upgrade through the app, you must first declare the Half Fare Card in your passenger data to benefit from discounted class upgrades.

How to:

Enter the glacier Express route, e.g. Zermatt to Chur, and proceed as you would purchase a ticket.
Select a connection, e.g. the 09:52 departure
Modify your passenger data (click on the pen next to your name), tick the checkbox ‘Half Fare Card (½)’ to reflect the half fare option.
Select a day upgrade or an upgrade for the route. The app automatically suggests a day pass or an upgrade for the route, depending on the effective ticket cost.
However, if you only want to upgrade your Glacier Express ride, there is no reason to bother with the SBB Mobile App. You can simply purchase the upgrade at any station’s ticket office in Switzerland.
