Where can this situation be denounced? I’m still in shock that this can happen in Switzerland. That a person can be mistreated by an official in the train!
Today my colleague was crossing the border from Italy to Switzerland, EC50 starting at 8:48 from Domodossola. He is a choreographer, has Italian and Argentinian nationality and he was bringing some decorations, some utensils for the dance piece and some food - overall a cabin size trolley and a backpack - for his stay in Wallis.
He was controlled by a group of three young Guarde-Frontiers, they were speaking German among them and one was speaking Italian with my colleague. They checked his passport, than took his luggage and guided him out of the wagon, one of them was holding him with a hand on the chest. He asked to watch them while they were opening his trolley, they were resistant but finally let him move closer.
They asked for his profession and when they learned that he was a dancer the two who were speaking German started giggling and laughing over the decorations and the elements for the show from his trolley, mocking some dance gestures with it.
They stopped only when two of their older colleagues, apparently one was their superior, came by and told them to adjust their attitude.
They finished the check and started pushing his belongings into the bag and his trolley, forcing things in and smashing the decorations. My colleague asked them to stop and only when he insisted they left.
He felt terrible at the moment and is left with a very unpleasant feeling and I’m very sorry that he had to meet such rudeness and disrespect from people representing authority in Switzerland.
I would assist him to deposit a complaint. Could you please help us to understand to which instance should it be directed?
