Unable to change my name

I am trying to change my name on swisspass due to legal reasons, but I am unable to do so.
I am doing everything according to the article: Changing your name on swisspass.
But I am always greeted with an error while trying to perform an identity check: An unexpected error has occurred. Please try again later. I tried multiple browsers, multiple devices, waited for around a week ,trying every day, cleared the browser cache, etc., which leads me to believe this is a server side error?
I am also trying to do this online to avoid paying 30chf at a Travel Centre.
