Trying to make seat reservations after buying Day Saver

Hi, hoping for some help and specific guidance re how a Day Saver pass can be used to then buy specific seat reservations.

Using the SBB website to look at tickets for Luzern to Interlaken to Montreux, the system advised to buy a Day Saver, however I’m now lost as to how I would then use my Day Saver to book seat reservations so as to ensure we have seats together in late Sept when we are travelling through.

In the SBB App, if i select “Seat reservation only” for any date or time for the journey, I get the message “a reservation cannot be offered for this journey”. So now lost as to how I’d ever use the Day Saver.

Any help would be greatly appreciated, have tried looking through the website without any luck

Very few trains in Switzerland require reservation. And on most trains reservations are not even possible. Trains are mass transit, used by people to go about their daily business. That the scenery is nice is incidental.

Your Saver Day Pass is just an “all you can eat” pass that gives you unlimited travel on all public transit. It was offered to you because it was the cheapest offer available for the day you were booking.

Booking tickets this far in advance is something few people do, and so cheap day passes were still available. Getting one was the right thing to do.

So you do not need to do anything else but once here find the trains you want to take, and just get on them. It is all that straightforward.
