My family and I will be travelling from Milano to Lugano on June 8, 2023 in order to connect with the Gotthard Panorama Express leaving Lugano at 9:18am. I recently purchased 1st class tickets from SBB for the Milano - Lugano route. I chose the trail leaving Milano Centrale at 6:43am, arriving Lugano at 7:58am. I believe this route is called RE80.
When I received my tickets via e-mail I noticed the departure time was correct (6:43am from Milano) but the arrival time was 10:43am in Lugano. Also, the ticket indicates the route is via Chiasso. Clearly this reservation will cause me to miss my connection with the Gotthard Panorama Express which leaves Lugano at 9:18am.
I went back to the SBB web site and re-entered the basic information of my trip, choosing the same date and departure time. The timetable showed the correct train (RE80) and the correct departure/arrival times which I need to make my connections. When I clicked on the Purchase Ticket button, the departure time remained the same (6:43am) but the arrival time changed to 10:43am, via Chiasso. The description of the route (RE80) had disappeared.
My downloaded tickets for me and my family all indicate we will be leaving Milano at 6:43am but arriving in Lugano at 10:43am, missing our connection to the Gotthard Panorama Express.
I am at a loss as to determine if I have incorrect tickets (and what I can do to correct them) or if my tickets are correct and will get us to Lugano on time for our next train.
I am in the US and would have communicated directly with SBB via e-mail but I could not find any e-mail contact information.
