Compensation for Half-Fare?

Hello,
I get it that you get a compensation for the ticket, for example, of 25% if the delay is 1 h or more and under 2 h.
So let’s say a full ticket price for a journey is 40 CHF, the compensation is 10 CHF.
For the same journey if you bought with HF then you will pay 20 CHF, and be compensated 5 CHF.
I understand that this is how you will be compensated for the ticket. Is there any compensation for the Half-Fare element (which you also paid for and you didn’t benefit according to the plans)?
If yes, how do you ask for such a claim?

Florian81 Hello,

The compensation is only 25% of the half fare ticket, CHF 5 in your example. Please note that compensation amounts of less than CHF 5 will not be paid out.

interesting, the same website also has a FAQ which mentions how you get compensated for travelcards including Half-Fare. Relevant excerpt:

Travelcards.

From 60 minutes’ delay, you receive at least CHF 5 or the daily value of your travelcard in compensation.

In total, a maximum of 10% of the value of the travelcard across its validity period will be paid out to you.

You do not receive any pro rata compensation based on the purchase cost of a Half Fare Travelcard.

So yes, you get some compensation for your Half Fare apart from the ticket compensation.

I didn’t interpret it that way, but you might be right.
My interpretation: the CHF 5 compensation is not a pro rata compensation, and it is not negated by point 3 that you quoted.
I submitted a claim for the Half-Fare and will come back with feedback.

I got compensation for HF element but I am still a bit puzzled.
In the link Danhiel provided there is the option to ask compensation for HF element, this can be asked separately from ticket compensation like I did (so two separate requests), or asked in the same request as the ticket.
Anyhow, I did the request for HF compensation which was rejected with “Compensation amount too low or ticket invalid” but also with the mention “If you do not agree with the decision, please reply to this e-mail with a description of the incident within 30 days…”.
So I answered that I want compensation for HF and not the ticket, and that I feel that the services that I paid for (the HF card) were below expectations - the other side said I am entitled to a compensation and paid me 8 CHF.
So yes questions remain but maybe other people can contribute to this thread to clarify.
