Swiss Day Saver and Travel insurance question

Hi 🙂

I booked two Swiss Day Savers tickets to be used last month (June), but I was unable to travel so the tickets weren’t used/scanned. I am currently trying to claim some money back from my travel insurance company, and need confirmation from SBB that I didn’t use tickets, so I can pass this information onto my travel insurance company. Can someone help me with this please? 👍

It is not possible to obtain a confirmation that you didn’t use the tickets, you have no guarantee that a ticket inspection occurs in every train.

You should prove that you are unable to travel this day, for example with a medical certificate, or prove that you were not in Switzerland.

Correct, or obtain a confirmation about the on-use from a train staff before the ticket’s date of validity.

It is clear that the insurance is not paying for something for which you do not have a proof.

I forgot that the conductor doesn’t check tickets sometimes, therefore there is no proof of whether I travelled or not.
