Swiss Pass available for people from abroad?

We are from the Netherlands and have a four week holidays in Switzerland. Do I understand correctly that if we arrive to Switzerland, we can buy a SwissPass at a ticket office? We would love to buy a Summer Trial GA Travelcard or otherwise a regular GA Travelcard for a month. But is that possible for us since we do not live in Switzerland?

Gerdien Hello,

I don’t think that you must be a Swiss resident to buy a GA Travelcard, no permit is required, but the SwissPass card will be delivered by post within around ten days and you need a postal address to receive it. The temporary SwissPass delivered at the ticket office is certainly not valid one month.

The Trial GA is not available for people from the Netherlands. What you could purchase is the 1-month GA travel card.

It is issued on a paper, or also on the SwissPass card, yet you must give your hotel address to receive it.

So, if i understand the information on the website right: we go to an Office on the Day of arrival with our identity card, photo and address of the hotel. Then the Swiss Pass will be delivered by post and in the mean time we can get a temporary Swiss Pass that is valid from the day itself, and we can buy a GA Travel card for one month at that same moment?
That would be great if that works.
