goodnight. My name is Marcelo and I’m Brazilian. I’m going to travel with my family to Switzerland in September. hear about the swiss half fare card. I would like to know if it is individual or can I purchase one and use it to buy tickets for my family? Can I be punished for doing this?

Any person of 16 years of age and older needs their own Swiss Half Fare Card.

Using someelse’s card is against the rule and punishable; you will definitely meet the police if you do so and face a hefty fine.

Note that the half fare card is not used for BUYING tickets (it is not cross-checked during the purchase process), but for TRAVELING with discounted tickets. So the HFC will only be checked (together with the discounted ticket) at a ticket control in the train.
Also, children under 6 always travel for free and do not need any tickets.

obrigado pelo retorno. com esse cartao eu posso comprar ingressos para visitar pontos turisticos pela metade do valor? e se isso puder ser feito, cada pessoa tem que possuir seu proprio cartao ou eu posso comprar varios tickets apenas usando meu cartao?

Every adult from 16 years of age must own their own card. Not all tourist attractions do accept the Swiss Half Fare Card. You can find the validity map on the Swiss Half Fare’s product website, see ‘More on the topic’:
