Train cancelled - need to buy a new ticket to take next train?

Hi, I just saw the IC5 train for which I have a ticket was cancelled. I will therefore take another train to get to my destination. Do I need to buy another ticket and request a refund for the ticket I’ve purchased? Thanks

You don’t need a new ticket, you can take the next available train with the same ticket.

As others already mentioned above, no new ticket, let alone a refund is ever necessary for a cancelled train in Switzerland. And even if this was the case, you would certainly not get any refund for a Swiss SBB ticket from a railway operator located in… India!!

@RomanoS - could that Indian site name be added to some blacklist, so posts containing that term could not be posted, or at least that term replaced with bullets (like with some types of personal information)?

Do you actually have a ticket for IC5? In Switzerland tickets are normally for a route, not a train.
And you can take any train on the route, and sometimes even have multiple routes. Eg. from Zurich to Geneva you can even take both IC5 and IC1. So you can take the next train, even if it is not an IC5 service.
