Saver Day Pass holder. Unable to reserve Panoramic Train seat.

I have purchased a Saver Day Pass for each of my stays in Switzerland, since I saw they granted you access to most trains, Panoramic PE included, previous seat reservation.

Upon starting the mandatory seat reservation for the PE train, selecting, as required, “Seat Reservation Only”, it simply displays an error message stating that I cannot be offered a reservation for this connection.

Please help me with this matter, I almost solely purchased said Saver Day Passes to access the panoramic trains.

Which train are you trying to reserve? On which site? Many of the special PE trains cannot be reserved through the normal SBB system, and need to be reserved on the site of the operator.

The Interlaken-Zürich PE, purchased via both SBB App on my phone and SBB website displays said message.

There is no Interlaken Zurich PE. There is an Interlaken Luzern PE, but that train does not require reservations. That is a normal service train.

Yes, however, @Krist is still right.

The trip needs at change of trains at Lucerne.

Take the PE from Interlaken Ost to Lucerne, where you change for IR70 or IR75 services to Zürich HB.

There are no direct trains going from Interlaken Ost to Zurich via Lucerne; it is not even technically possible.

Optional seat reservations are possible on the PE services only, not on the IR.

In our blog we have communicated how to reserve the Lucerne Interlaken trains; in a nutshell, you have to reserve it with the train operator, not with SBB:

It is my opinion that the reservation for the Luzern - Interlaken train is overpriced. It is not necessary. Save the money for a drink :-)

Do you mean the reservation price or the Panoramic trip itself?, i.e. “take a regular train”

On Luzern - Interlaken the “Panoramic Trains” are regular trains. They used to be labeled IR till someone probably thought that people weren’t confused enough yet.
They have the typical large windows panoramic trains have, but they are just a normal conveyance to get from A to B. And the scenery is nice.

You can reserve seats, but that is in my opinion not needed, and thus you better keep that money for something else.
