How to use Swiss Travel Pass

I’m going to get the train from Visp to Bern with Swiss Travel Pass. From Visp to Frutigen, this area is 50% reduction line, so I have to pay additional fee for the section. When and how to pay the fee? Should I purchase the Visp - Frutigen ticket at Visa station? Could I purchase the ticket by app “SBB” or “onion” or something?

Where did you find that you have only a 50% reduction between Visp and Frutigen with the train? If you have a Swiss Travel Pass, it is valid and you don’t need any other ticket. Perhaps some cable cars or buses in the region offer only a reduction.

Koawougou17 Ok, I understand. It means that you have a tunnel between Visp and Frutigen. On other maps, this problem was corrected and you have now a continuous red line.

When reading the map you should make the distinction between dashed and dotted lines.

Only routes showing dotted lines or grey lines are payable.
