Good morning, in November I am traveling with my family from Paris to Basel, then to Interlaken, then to Milan, we are traveling with a three-year-old child. Should I book a ticket for the child or does it travel for free? What ticket do you recommend for traveling as a family that is economical?
Your 3-years old child does not need a ticket for the entire trip. It will, however, not have a designated seat on the TGV train and will have to travel on your lap in case the train is fully booked. In Switzerland, trains are free-seating.
November is the worst time to travel to Switzerland. Many tourist attractions will be closed due to low season, and the weather is often defavourable with rain, wind, and fog - as in the entire northern Europe.
Kind regards,
Roland
