Travelling from Zermatt to Chur in June

Hi there, can someone please help, we are from New Zealand and am finding it quite confusing to book train tickets! We were hoping to take a trip on the Glacier Express but it is fully booked. Am I right that there are other trains that do the exact same route as the Glacier Express? Our itinerary is on 8th June, leave Zermatt and take the train to Chur (via Andermatt), spend the night in Chur, then on 9th June, leave Chur and travel by train to St Moritz. Would you recommend we buy a pass? And also, do we need to buy a ticket and then a seat reservation? Sorry for all the questions, but this is all very new to us and we would like to get our tickets sorted before we leave NZ in a few weeks. Thank you in advance 🙂

There is a possibility to take another train but the journey is much longer. Zermatt – Chur: about 6 hours and 30 minutes and Chur - St.Moritz: 7 hours and 50 minutes.
With these trains it is not possible to reserve seats.

For your tickets, I recommend the Saver day pass, it is cheaper than the normal ticket (see scan). If you are travelling for 3 days or more, you can also opt for the Swiss travel pass.
