Work-around option for purchase with US credit card?

Does anybody have a solution for the known issue where Swiss Rail won’t accept credit cards that are not 3D secure (US card)? I’m trying to book a ticket from Switzerland to Italy, so purchase using the App via Apple Pay is also not possible as you cannot buy international tickets on the app.
What is the solution?

You could try with other vendors, for example trenitalia.com or trainline.com.

You should contact your credit card bank to activate 3D secure ID. It is a common standard for web shops in Europe.

In fact, 3D secure was invented by VISA.

Try purchasing your ticket with Trenitalia.com or the Trenitalia app. Does it wirk there?
