SBB Ticket Machine -- question about paying cash

I read this in letsgo travel book.

The book says the machine doesn’t give change. Any truth to this?

Of course, they do return cash (CHF), and they always did. Certain travel books are simply not reliable. Better ask us, the locals 🤣.
