Hello,
Arrived in Switzerland. The very first train ticket I bought from within Switzerland (at the Zurich airport, the very last ticket for intercity for the night) was immediately cancelled after 15 mins. Then I made an in correct double booking to replace that train ticket out of panic. It was a bad day.
For this, I made request for refund for four ticket cancellations (2 each for me and companion) using the SBB mobile app. I got this email confirmation, which read:
"We have received your request CSxxxxxxxxx.
If the conditions for a refund are met, we will credit the amount to the payment method used to make the purchase. We will not send you any further notice. In other cases, we will send you an e-mail notifying you that your refund request could not be considered. Please note that the processing time can take up to 15 days.
Kind regards
Your SBB "
But before I made the cancellation and request for refund, I inquired with the lady at the Information desk at Zurich Flughafen, how to make a request for refund. She told me I had to call SBB directly.
Was the email I received all I could do? Just wait for any communication via email? Or should I do more like go to SBB office in a city or make phone call?
Will the refund be as easy as credit card reversal?
Thanks.
