willmow The marketing I have seen regarding this new Lyria initiative is not clear. 1) Am I able to use my existing CFF/SBB Children’s Co-Travelcard (Kinder-Mitfahrkarte / carte Enfant Accompagné) for travel on Lyria with the child or must I buy a separate card that is specific to Lyria? 2) I see that the card limits the child’s price to Fr 41 (standard class). But it seems to me that the price to Paris for a child without the card is often less than that. So why has Lyria launched this initiative?
Danhiel Hello willmow You can find the conditions here: https://www.tgv-lyria.com/ch/en/fares-promotions/special-offers/discounts/child-fares-tgv-sbb Not everyone travel with discounted prices, in some trains such offers less than 41 CHF can be sold out. Kind Regards Daniel
willmow @ Daniel/Danhiel Thanks. Do you have the answer to my first question? And one additional question: we usually buy tickets through the SNCF Connect system. Does the CFF/SBB scheme allow this, or must we go via the CFF/SBB app?
Danhiel willmow You can find the answers in the conditions: To obtain this fare, children aged from 4 to 15 must hold a JUNIOR or CHILDREN’S CO-TRAVEL discount railcard. Fares can be booked on the SBB website www.sbb.ch/en, at the ticket office in all stations served in Switzerland, or via the SBB Contact Centre on 0848 44 66 88 (CHF 0.08/min). If it is not clear, contact the SBB.
willmow @“Danhiel” OK tx. I have just booked Lyria tickets for the children through the SNCF app at ⅔ of the set SBB price! It pays to check and compare prices.
