Saver offer and Saver offer Flex

I will be traveling with my mother and 3 siblings from Milan Centrale to Thun on November 21,2024. I found a SBB train that leaves at 705am non stop arriving in Thun at around 10am, there is a Saver offer CHF 32 and Saver offer flex CHF 56. Is this Saver offer same as a Saver day pass, that I can use to visit other places when we arrive in Thun. WE are visiting Switzerland from Nov 21-24, I have bought Saver Pass for November 22 and 23 already. I am not sure if this Saver offer on Nov 21,2024 is the same as a Saver Pass. Thank you.

No, these tickets are only valid between Milano Centrale and Thun.

If you want to visit other places in Switzerland on Nov. 21, 2024, you could buy Saver Day Passes for this day and buy only tickets between Milano Centrale and Domodossola in the 7:05 am train for Italy. You could use the Saver Day Passes from Domodossola to Thun and for other journeys later.

Saucheaquail17 I forgot something. If you buy tickets only from Milano to Domodossola, make it on Trenitalia.com, they have probably better offers for families.

I wondered what your travel plans are when coming to Switzerland in November?

Travelling to Switzerland in November is not really a good idea. It is in fact the worst month to come here. The weather isn’t favourable, it is low season and a lot of tourists sights are closed.

Thank you Daniel, for clarifying the saver offer, i just did booked the trip as you suggested.
RolandP, no plans to do any mountain excursions, going to the Christmas market in Geneva. I have visited with my family last summer 2023, can’t get enough of Switzerland. I just hope with this 3 day visit, the weather will cooperate.

Hi, I would like to get some advise regarding possible getting a refund for train passes.
As mentioned in my previous correspondence, I am taking my mom and siblings to visit your country. Unfortunetly, my mother just got diagnosed with Lung Ca, it was an incidental finding, and now the doctor has advised her not to travel and she needs to be seen by an oncologist and get treated right away. My dilemma right now I have bought Saver day passes for 5 people for 3 days that we will be there. I was able to cancel our hotel reservations without any issue but the train passes not sure since it says no refund or transfer.
Any suggestions??? I wasn’t given an option to buy insurance when I booked the passes, unlike the Glacier express- they offered it.

I am sorry to hear that. I wish your mom and family all the best, and that further examinations will turn out in better news, so you can return to Switzerland again.

The conditions and proceedings for cancelling saver offers are described here:

You can cancel them provided you have a medical certificate from a PhD proving the unability to travel.

SBB is not offering travel insurance options with their tickets; I don’t think your local public transit operator does either; this is a private matter of each traveller, if needed.
I, personally, do not have signed a contract with a travel insurance either; however, my credit card bank is offering me such, provided 51 % of the trip costs were paid with their credit card. I am not sure if that is the case with you?
