SEAT RESERVATIONS

I’ve bought 2 tickets from Munchen am Laim to Wien, thru SBB. But it didn’t allow me to reserve seats on the EC217 from Munchen Out to Salzburg. On the second part Salzburg-Wien I was able to do so, thru OBB, even so I bought the tickets from SBB. Please can you help me reserve setas on my first leg of the trip, we already have the train tickets download and printed. Thanks in advance, M.E. Yrigoyen

You can also try to reserve seats on bahn.de, but it is possible that the train is already sold out. Or engineering works are planned and reservations are currently not open. Could you indicate us the date of departure?

i apologise, i can’t find any reason to book at Ticketshop sbb.ch, München-Berg am Laim to Vienna. You can book addtional options as seat reservation München Ost to Salzburg on EC 217 at DB Navigator Bahn.de. Please check if you have already paid seat reservation on EC 217. Reservation fee 4 CHF is payable once for connecting trains.

Danhiel thank you very much for the tip. I’ve decided to keep my tickets, I started in Switzerland that’s why we stay with the same train line.

Given that this trip starts in Germany you would have done better buying the ticket from DB, not SBB.

If this trip is several weeks in the future it is very likely that for some reason reservations are not available yet. Reservations rarely sell out, and when they do, only close to departure.

Limeuhu12 thank you Christopher for answering so promptly. Yes, that’s the EC train we bought tickets, but was not able to check that leg with seats. The rest of our trips are with SBB and OBB and we are all set. Thanks for the tip!

You can’t stay with the same train line. SBB does not operate any trains in Germany. They can book you tickets for Germany, but as you found out that is not optimal.
