Unable to find connection From Luzern to Venezia S. Lucia on 30 Dec 2024

Hi, I need to buy a train ticket From Luzern to Venezia S. Lucia on 30 Dec 2024 in advance for schengen visa.
When I use the app and it’s showing “Oops, no connection found” on 30 Dec 2024.
However, I when I changed the Date to 9th Dec 2024, there are available trains.

Does anyone know the reason? Because it’s for the visa purpose, I need to buy it for 30 Dec 2024.

There is the annual timetable change happening in Europe on 9 Dec 2024. It is totally normal that tickets cannot be purchased after this date. Tickets may go on sale mid of October.

I wondered why you need a train ticket for the Schengen Visa application. Travelling from Switzerland to Italy means, you will already be arrving from a Schengen country. There is no need to proof your travel from one Schengen country to the next; how could you if you had used the car?

Thanks for the Quick Reply. 😟 When I submitted my VISA application Friday. The Italy consulate staff asked me to provide the transport proof to show that I will be entering in Italy. I told him that I will take a train from Luzern to Venezia. He insisted that I need to buy the train ticket and sent him the proof.
My flight ticket shows that I will be flying out from Rome Italy. I think he wanted to make sure that Italy is my main destination during my Europe Trip. Even with my 11 days Italy Accommodation Proof, he still wanted me to prove the transport proof. I am clueless.

I spent half day searching online today, and found out I couldn’t buy a proper train ticket online for 30th Dec 2024. I am quite frustrated right now. And don’t know where to go from here.

Tell the Italian consulate that you cannot yet buy a train ticket because it is to far in the future.
