Dear SBB Community,
The staggered release started on 23 October 2025 with version 12.32.0 (iOS) and version 12.32.1 (Android) for SBB Mobile. This means that as soon as version 12.32.x is available as an update in your store and the update has been completed, you will be able to buy tickets for the most popular destinations in Europe in the app itself.
The content of this tip therefore applies to both the SBB Mobile and SBB Preview apps.

Want to travel to Bella Italia or the City of Love? With the new version of SBB Preview, you can buy tickets for the most popular destinations in Europe directly in the app.
How can I buy a ticket for an international journey in the SBB Preview app?
Just like when buying tickets for Switzerland, you can access the timetable in the ‘Plan’ tab. We recommend that you make your purchase as a logged-in user (login/register via the ‘Profile’ tab or during the purchase process in the ‘European trips’ window).
Once you have selected the connection you want, you can swipe over the connection from right to left to start the purchase process. Alternatively, you can open the detailed view of the connection and start the purchase process by clicking on the ‘Purchase ticket / Ticket from CHF XY’ button.
In the ‘European trips’ window, you can also add the return journey if required, log in or buy as a guest without logging in and enter/edit passengers, including co-passengers.
Offer overview:
In the offer overview, you can use the slider to view the offers for 1st and 2nd class. The offers are divided into three variants with different conditions. Note: Only the available variants are displayed. If an offer variant is no longer displayed, it has sold out in the selected class.
Important: Please note the conditions and validity of each offer variant. You can access the detailed validity conditions and exchange/refund conditions via the info symbol in the ticket details.

Optional and compulsory reservations:
You can enter your preferred seats for optional and compulsory reservations.
The seats offered vary depending on the international partner system.
Note: Your selected seats cannot be guaranteed. Requests will be fulfilled as closely as possible depending on the available seats.

Relevant travel information:
Before you finalise the purchase process and proceed to the payment, the entire trip is shown with all the relevant travel information.
Important: Check before finalising your purchase! In many cases, tickets are only valid on the train you have booked. There are certain offers (mostly saver offers) that cannot be exchanged or refunded – not even in exceptional cases. These conditions are set by the respective railway companies and cannot be changed by SBB.
Where can I find the international tickets I booked via SBB Preview?
In the ‘Tickets & Travelcards’ tab, international journeys are listed together with national journeys (sorted by date).
If reservations are available, you will first be taken to the ‘Tickets & Reservations’ overview for the selected journey and from there to the screen tickets via ‘Your tickets’.
If a check-in/download is necessary for the partner railway, the link to the partner railway appears first when you swipe from right to left to view the screen tickets. This is followed by other screen tickets, such as connecting tickets, reservations, etc.

Can all international journeys be booked via SBB Preview?
Does the SBB Preview app also send push notifications for international connections in the event of delays or strikes?
Yes. Information on delays is sent as push notifications within Switzerland up to the Swiss border. Customers who are logged in and buy an international ticket via SBB Preview also receive personalised information on major disruptions and strikes by e-mail. Generally, current information in the timetable is also displayed in the app.
Information on delays or events affecting connections in the countries you travel to is not available as a push notification. Please refer to the website of the respective partner railway. You will receive a link to the websites of the partner railway(s) in the e-mail ‘Your trip…’.
Where can I find more information about SBB Preview and international travel?
We wish you a very nice trip with SBB and have fun.
