Recommendation for Pass

Hi I am traveling to Switzerland and Como for 10 days, I will be in Switzerland for 8 days so I know I need the 8 day pass.

I wanted to know the following question:

I purchased seat reservation on Glacier Express from Zermatt to Chur, I used discount for Swiss Travel pass, and paid for seat reservation. Does it matter if I buy Swiss Travel Pass or the Half Fare?

I then was going to take train from Chur to Zurich and then separate train from Zurich to Como, will the Swiss Travel pass cover my train from Chur to Zurich or do I need to purchase a train ticket via the SBB site for Chur to Zurich? I know I have to purchase full price from Zurich to Como.

Does the Glacier Express arrive at Chur or Chur West?

No. The discount option is not relevant. In case you do not have the Swiss Travel Pass yet the Swiss Half Fare Card, you still need a ticket in addition. A Saver Day Pass is a viable option: Saver Day Pass – book earlier, travel cheaper | SBB

OK, via Zurich means a huge detour. You could well take

the Bernina Express to Tirano, then a local train from there to Como, or
the scenic San Bernardino post bus to Bellinzona and continue from there to Como (Chur–Bellinzona route | PostBus), or
the scenic Palm Express from St. Moritz to Lugano and continue from there to Como, or change buses in Menaggio to continue from there to Como (Palm Express - palm-express - PostBus).

All depends on the season you will be in our country. The Swiss Travel Pass does also cover post bus services.

Does the Glacier Express arrive at Chur or Chur West?

At Chur mainstation.

Hi thanks for the response. Unfortunately the Glacier Express train that arrives in Chur is past the time when Bernina Express leaves Chur for Tirano so I have to go the longer route, via Zurich then Como.

Would Half Pass or Full Pass be better option, if I am traveling from Zurich to Lucerne, then Interlaken then Zermatt, then doing Glacier Express to Chur then going from Chur to Zurich to Como. I plan on seeing Jungfrau, Mt Rigi, and Pilatus as well, I believe Rigi is included with Swiss Rail Pass, but is that full fare of half fare as well? Any additional advice would be helpful. Thanks again
