Refund 10 CHF Fee

Hello, I requested a refund for some train tickets that I could not use because the line was not operational. (Interrupted service Meiringen - Interlaken Ost Duration:13.08.2024 - 24.11.2024). I bought the alternative tickets with a stop in Meiringen + bus for the same day. Even so, they applied a 10 CHF fee on the refund. Can I claim these 10 CHF? Thanks

The CHF 10 is the cancellation fee when you refund tickets that you did not purchase using a customer account.

There was actually no need to cancel your first ticket as it would have been perfectly valid for the replacement bus as well.

I recommend to call the SBB Contact Center. If you explain them that you cancelled the first ticket in cosequence of a train cancellation then the 10 swiss francs fee will not deducted.

In this case the OP cancelled a ticket and then subsequently bought exactly the same ticket again, unaware that they did not need to cancel the ticket. A train cancellation does not cancel your ticket. It is only when you decide to forego your trip because of the cancellation that you are entitled to a full refund.

Yes that‘s right.

But in this case I think he purchased twice the same ticket. For this reason he can ask for a free pay refund of one of the tickets if he explain the situation.
