Afternoon All,
I know there are many threads on this topic but I just have a couple of quick queries I haven’t come across an answer to before, any help most appreciated!
I am looking at potentially purchasing one of the ‘RailAway’ tickets combined with entry for the Transport Museum in Lucerne for our group (we are two adults, two children - 3 & 5 - and a baby) for a trip from Geneve-Luzern this weekend. Am I right in thinking that I would be purchasing two adult tickets and one child as under 6’s don’t require a rail ticket unless you wanted to guarantee an additional seat etc?
It also looks like I can book the journey either on the swiftest route via Bern or “via Gstaad” to route over the Goldenpass route which I thought might be a nice option. I understand there is one ‘special’ train a day from Montreux c. 0930 that is the newer ‘GP Express’ train, While I think that might be a little early for us coming from the airport that morning, would I be right in thinking that the RailAway ticket I would have for the journey Geneve Airport - Luzern (via Gstaad) would be valid on that service if I purchased a seat reservation from the GPX website?
Assuming we weren’t aiming for that special service (not mandatory by any means!), is there any different in the services over the rest of the day or would they all be valid for travel with a ticket for that route without any specific additional reservation? I notice many of them are labelled PE/ ‘panorama’ on the planner but not sure if that means it is a special service that needs specific ticketing or just what normal services on that route are referred to as?
Any guidance most appreciated!
Sandy
