In this case the => 24h Zurich Card might be your ticket.
Apart from the included free or discounted admissions, the zones included would already cover e.g. the train to Mt. Uetliberg, the Lindt chocolate factory, and especially also the airport transfers. Which means that you would need a point-to-point ticket only between Basel and Zurich HB (= City).
In case of good weather so you’re less interested in museums and such, the => ZVV 9 o’clock day pass (valid from 9am on weekdays, full day pass on sat/sun) would be a slightly cheaper alternative, without all the museum admission & shopping goodies, but valid on the entire ZVV network (= Canton/State of Zurich), thus also allowing e.g. long boat cruises down the lake until Rapperswil. Or the Rhine Falls, but ONLY(!) if travelling via Winterthur and only using the Schloss Laufen station. Which means crossing the railway bridge above the falls only by foot (footpaths), NOT by train, as the river is the state/ZVV area border.
