Air rail luggage from US

For many years I have been able to check my luggage at a US airport into Zurich and through to my final destination in Switzerland (via rail). I see the program on you website but only going from Swiss locations, not from foreign locations. I have many of the green plastic tags, how do I book luggage through Zurich to final destinations?

If you still are in the USA then this service is not possible. The SBB offers only a Service if you are in Switzerland and you are flying f.e. From Zurich by Swiss, Edelweiss, British Airways, KLM etc. to USA. Then you also can book this service to come back from the USA to Switzerland. Please note that the return trip must be booked together.

It is possible to book return luggage transport from abroad to Switzerland, but this must be done in Switzerland before departure.

But if you now are in USA this service is not possible unfortunately.

We are a customer support forum run by volunteers; we are not the SBB customer service.

The luggage through-check to a destination in Switzerland is no longer offered to people with point of departure abroad, for security and customs reasons. It must have been a while since you have used this service, it discontinued more than 5 years ago.

Nowadays, you must take your luggage from the baggage claim area to the SBB travel center yourself, where you can recheck your bags for rail spedition, or you can book a porter service from CGS porter services to help you taking the luggage to the SBB travel center.
