Not able to use PLUS credits

Hi everyone,

I have purchased a Half Fare Travelcard with validity starting from 1 December 2024.
Additionally, I’ve purchased Half Fare Travelcard PLUS (1,000 credits), which is also valid starting from 1 December 2024.

I’m trying to book a train ticket for 1 December 2024 using my PLUS credits, but the system is showing the following error message:
“The payment process was rejected by the financial institution. Please repeat the process with a different payment method.”

Has anyone experienced this issue when trying to use PLUS credits for a booking?

Hello SAGAR

You can only purchase tickets when your contract became valid, in your case, starting from 1 December 2024.

If you want to purchase the tickets now for december, the Half Fare PLUS contract has to be active now as the money will be deducted right during the purchase process.

The travelcard plus is just a prepaid credit, not a „ticket“ or pass which would checked during a ticket control from December. The ticket inspector couldn’t care lesss about how you bought your tickets.

Best idea now is to check with SBB customer service or at a SBB ticket counter whether you can amend your existing travelcard plus and get a new one with a current date.
