I have purchased a ticket from Luzern via Basel to Hamburg for July 2023. I haven’t been able to book a seat reservation for the Luzern to Basel leg.
It says that it is reservable, but when you search it just says Seat Reservation Not Possible.
Do I need to have a seat reservation for this section. It is an IR train.

You cannot make seat reservations for IR trains; it is only possible on IC trains and internationally operating trains.

Even if you could, you would not need a seat reservation for this leg.
