swiss half-fare card and half-fare travel card

Hello, I will come there next week and I am arranging my travel. I am trying to buy swiss half-fare card and add my son whose birthday is 02.02.2014. but the system says that The date of birth is outside the validity range for the product selected. What is the reason for that?

Easiest is to just buy the half fare card and family card when you are here at the station. You can do this at the airport or wherever it is you are entering Switzerland.
